Anastrol

Anastrol (Anastrozole) is a non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor used primarily in the treatment of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women. By inhibiting the aromatase enzyme, it significantly reduces estrogen levels, slowing or halting the growth of estrogen-dependent cancer cells.

Indications:

• Treatment of early breast cancer in postmenopausal women.

• Treatment of advanced or metastatic breast cancer that is hormone receptor-positive.

• As an adjuvant therapy to reduce cancer recurrence after surgery.

Dosage Form and Strength:

• Tablets: 1 mg Anastrozole

Mechanism of Action:

Anastrozole selectively inhibits the aromatase enzyme, blocking the conversion of androgens to estrogens, thus lowering estrogen levels that fuel the growth of certain breast cancers.

Common Side Effects:

• Hot flashes

• Joint pain or stiffness

• Fatigue

• Nausea

• Osteoporosis or bone thinning (with long-term use)

Precautions:

• Not recommended for premenopausal women.

• Bone density monitoring is advised during long-term therapy.

• Caution in patients with liver or kidney impairment.
