Composition:
Each 5 ml contains:

• Butamirate Citrate 7.5 mg

Product Description:
Bukof-D Syrup is a non-opioid cough suppressant containing Butamirate Citrate, which acts centrally to inhibit the cough reflex. It is used for the symptomatic relief of dry (non-productive) coughs of various origins.

Indications:

• Dry, irritating cough

• Pre- and post-operative cough suppression

• Cough associated with respiratory tract infections (when suppression is needed)

Dosage & Administration:
Dosage should be determined by a physician. Common pediatric and adult dosing is based on body weight and age.

Mechanism of Action:
Butamirate Citrate suppresses the cough center in the medulla without the addictive potential of opioid antitussives. It also has mild bronchodilator and anti-inflammatory properties.

Presentation:
Bottle containing 100 ml syrup.

Precautions:

• Not recommended for productive cough where airway clearance is required.

• Use with caution in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Butamirate.

• Safety in pregnancy and lactation has not been fully established.

Side Effects:
Generally well-tolerated. Occasionally:

• Gastrointestinal discomfort

• Skin rash

• Drowsiness

Store below 30°C. Protect from light. Keep out of reach of children.
