Generic Name: Cabozantinib

Product Description:
Cabozanix is an oral anti-cancer medication containing Cabozantinib, a small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI). Cabozantinib works by inhibiting multiple receptor tyrosine kinases involved in tumor growth, angiogenesis, and metastatic progression of cancer cells, including MET, VEGFR, RET, AXL, and others.

Cabozanix is available in tablet form in the following strengths:

• Cabozanix 20 mg

• Cabozanix 60 mg

• Cabozanix 80 mg

Indications:

Cabozanix is used for the treatment of:

• Advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC)

• Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in patients who have previously received sorafenib

• Medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC)

• Other cancers as determined by the prescribing physician

Mechanism of Action:

Cabozantinib inhibits pathways that promote tumor cell proliferation and survival, angiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels), and metastatic spread, thus slowing the progression of cancer.

Dosage and Administration:

The recommended dose varies by indication and patient condition. Tablets are taken orally, once daily, without food (at least 2 hours after and 1 hour before eating). Dose adjustments may be required based on tolerability.

Common Side Effects:

• Diarrhea

• Fatigue

• Nausea and vomiting

• Hypertension

• Hand-foot syndrome (palmar-plantar erythrodysesthesia)

• Decreased appetite

• Weight loss

Precautions:

• Liver or kidney impairment

• Risk of bleeding, hypertension, and thromboembolic events

• Pregnancy and breastfeeding are not recommended during treatment
