Product Description:

Cetuxim (Cetuximab) is a chimeric monoclonal antibody that targets the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). It is classified as an EGFR inhibitor and is used in the treatment of certain types of cancers, including:

• Metastatic colorectal cancer (KRAS wild-type, EGFR-expressing tumors)

• Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

It works by binding to EGFR on the surface of cancer cells, blocking their growth and proliferation.

Dosage and Administration:

• Colorectal Cancer:

  • Initial dose: 400 mg/m² body surface area as a 2-hour IV infusion

  • Maintenance dose: 250 mg/m² weekly as a 1-hour IV infusion

• Head and Neck Cancer:

  • Loading dose: 400 mg/m² one week prior to radiation

  • Then 250 mg/m² weekly for the duration of radiation therapy

Note: Premedication with antihistamines is recommended to reduce the risk of infusion reactions. The dose and schedule may vary based on the indication and patient condition.
