Product Description

Dapoxetine is designed for on-demand use, taken approximately 1 to 3 hours before anticipated sexual activity. It is not intended for daily use. The medication is typically available in film-coated tablets, with common dosages being 30 mg and 60 mg. The 30 mg dose is often used as a starting point, with the 60 mg dose considered if additional efficacy is needed. 

Indications

• Treatment of premature ejaculation in adult men aged 18 to 64 years

Dapoxetine increases serotonin levels in the nervous system by inhibiting its reuptake. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that helps delay the ejaculation reflex. By boosting serotonin activity, dapoxetine helps improve the duration of sexual intercourse and enhances control over ejaculation. 

Contraindications

Dapoxetine should not be used in men with:

• Moderate to severe hepatic impairment

• Severe renal impairment

• Heart failure or other significant cardiovascular conditions

• Concurrent use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or other serotonergic drugs

• Hypersensitivity to dapoxetine or any of its components

Common Side Effects

• Nausea

• Dizziness

• Headache

• Dry mouth

• Diarrhea

• Insomnia

These side effects are generally mild and transient. Unlike other SSRIs, dapoxetine is associated with low rates of sexual dysfunction
