📋 Product Description & Indications

Dexoprex is used in adults (and children ≥ 12 years) as a delayed‑release capsule to:

• Heal all grades of erosive esophagitis (EE) – treatment up to 8 weeks

• Maintain healed EE and heartburn relief – up to 6 months

• Treat symptomatic non‑erosive gastro‑esophageal reflux disease (GERD) – typically 4 weeks

It reduces stomach acid by inhibiting the gastric (H⁺/K⁺)-ATPase pump in parietal cells.

⏱️ Recommended Dosage

• Can be taken with or without food; capsules should be swallowed whole or the granules sprinkled on soft food or into water (swallow immediately, do not chew) 

• For patients with moderate hepatic impairment, do not exceed 30 mg/day.

• Contraindicated if allergic to dexlansoprazole or any capsule component.

• Common side effects include diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, flatulence.

• Warnings: risk of magnesium deficiency, bone fractures with long-term use, C. difficile infection, and possible masking of gastric malignancy.
