Description:

Fluroxan contains Fluconazole, a triazole antifungal agent that works by inhibiting fungal sterol synthesis, leading to disruption of the fungal cell membrane.

Composition:

• Fluroxan 250 mg Tablet: Each tablet contains Fluconazole 250 mg.

• Fluroxan 500 mg Tablet: Each tablet contains Fluconazole 500 mg.

Indications:

• Oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis

• Cryptococcal meningitis

• Systemic candidiasis

• Vaginal candidiasis

• Dermatophytosis (skin fungal infections)

• Prophylaxis of fungal infections in immunocompromised patients

Dosage:

Dosage depends on the type and severity of infection:

• Typical adult dose ranges from 150 mg single dose to 400–800 mg daily for systemic infections.

• Always follow the physician’s prescription.

Contraindications:

• Known hypersensitivity to Fluconazole or related azole compounds.

Precautions:

• Use with caution in patients with liver dysfunction or renal impairment.

• Monitor liver function during prolonged therapy.

Adverse Reactions:

• Common: Nausea, headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, skin rash.

• Rare but serious: Hepatotoxicity, QT prolongation, severe allergic reactions.
