Product Description:

Nab-Xelpac contains Nab-Paclitaxel, which is a nanoparticle albumin-bound formulation of paclitaxel. It is a microtubule inhibitor designed for intravenous administration. The albumin-bound formulation enhances solubility and reduces the need for solvents, lowering the risk of hypersensitivity reactions compared to conventional paclitaxel.

Indications:

Used in the treatment of:

Metastatic breast cancer (after failure of combination chemotherapy)
Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
Metastatic pancreatic cancer (in combination with gemcitabine)

Dosage & Administration:

Dosage may vary depending on cancer type and patient condition, but common regimens include:

1. Metastatic Breast Cancer:

260 mg/m² IV over 30 minutes every 3 weeks without premedication.

2. NSCLC (in combination with carboplatin):

100 mg/m² IV on days 1, 8, and 15 of each 21-day cycle.

3. Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer (with gemcitabine):

125 mg/m² IV over 30–40 minutes on days 1, 8, and 15 of a 28-day cycle.

Dosage Form:

Lyophilized powder for reconstitution
For intravenous infusion only, typically administered over 30 minutes

Note:

Dose adjustments may be needed based on hematologic toxicity or hepatic impairment.
Unlike traditional paclitaxel, no premedication with corticosteroids or antihistamines is usually required.
