Description:

Pembroxim Injection contains pembrolizumab, a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed death receptor-1 (PD-1). It is designed to help restore the immune system's ability to detect and fight cancer cells.

Mechanism of Action:

Pembrolizumab works by blocking the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands (PD-L1 and PD-L2), which results in the activation of T-cell–mediated immune responses against tumor cells.

Indications:

Pembroxim Injection is indicated for the treatment of:

• Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)

• Melanoma

• Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC)

• Classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL)

• Urothelial carcinoma

• Renal cell carcinoma

• Other cancers expressing PD-L1, as specified by guidelines

Dosage & Administration:

• Typically administered as an intravenous (IV) infusion over 30 minutes.

• Common dosing regimens: 200 mg every 3 weeks or 400 mg every 6 weeks, depending on the indication.

• Dosage adjustments may be needed based on toxicity or patient tolerance.

Storage:

• Store refrigerated at 2°C to 8°C.

• Protect from light.

• Do not freeze or shake.

Precautions:

• Immune-mediated adverse reactions (e.g., pneumonitis, colitis, hepatitis, endocrinopathies).

• Monitor liver, renal, and thyroid function.

• Use with caution in patients with autoimmune disease or those on immunosuppressive therapy.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include:

• Fatigue

• Rash

• Diarrhea

• Pruritus

• Nausea

• Decreased appetite

• Cough

Serious adverse effects (immune-mediated) require prompt management, often with corticosteroids.
