Active Ingredient: Rupatadine Fumarate

Product Description:
Rupadin Oral Solution contains Rupatadine Fumarate, a second-generation antihistamine with selective peripheral H1-receptor antagonist activity and additional anti-PAF (Platelet-Activating Factor) effects. It is formulated as a palatable syrup for easy administration, particularly suitable for children.

Composition:
Each 5 ml contains:

• Rupatadine (as fumarate) … 5 mg

Indications:

• Symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis (seasonal and perennial), including nasal congestion, sneezing, rhinorrhea, and itching.

• Treatment of chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives), relieving symptoms like itching and wheals.

Dosage & Administration:

• Children (2–11 years): as directed by a physician, commonly 5 ml once daily.

• Adolescents (≥12 years) and adults: dosage adjustment may be required, refer to physician recommendations.

• Administer orally, with or without food.

Pharmacological Action:
Rupatadine blocks the histamine H1 receptors, preventing allergic symptoms. It also inhibits the effects of PAF, contributing to its anti-inflammatory properties.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to rupatadine or any component of the formulation.

Precautions:

• Use caution in patients with hepatic or renal impairment.

• Limited data in children under 2 years.

• Should not be combined with CYP3A4 inhibitors or in patients with prolonged QT interval without medical supervision.

Side Effects:

• Common: Drowsiness, headache, dry mouth, fatigue.

• Rare: Palpitations, abdominal pain.
