📋 Product Description

Tofacinix 5 mg (tofacitinib) is a prescription oral tablet that belongs to the Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors class—a type of disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) .

• Mechanism of action: Inhibits JAK enzymes (JAK1, JAK2, JAK3), disrupting cytokine signaling involved in immune response and inflammation 

• Approved uses:

  • Moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis in adults unresponsive or intolerant to methotrexate

  • Psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, ulcerative colitis, and polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis 

• Dosage: Common regimen is 5 mg taken orally twice daily. There’s also an 11 mg once-daily extended‑release version .

• Side effects & risks:

  • Common: headache, diarrhea, high blood pressure 

  • Serious: increased risk of infections (including TB, shingles), blood clots (deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism), certain cancers (lymphoma, skin cancer), and liver/hematologic abnormalities 

• Administration & precautions:

  • Can be taken with or without food.

  • Regular monitoring with blood tests (CBC, liver function) recommended.
