Generic Name: Oxaliplatin

Product Description:

Xaloplat is a platinum-based chemotherapy medication used primarily in the treatment of colorectal cancer, often in combination with other drugs such as 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and leucovorin. It is supplied as a concentrate for solution for infusion.

Dosage (General Guidelines):

  • Typical dose for colorectal cancer (adults):
    85 mg/m² IV infusion over 2 hours every 2 weeks in combination with other agents (e.g., 5-FU/leucovorin).

  • Administration:

    • Administered by IV infusion only.

    • Should not be mixed with or administered with saline or chloride-containing solutions.

    • Reconstituted and diluted with 5% Dextrose (D5W) before use.

  • Dose adjustment: Required in cases of renal impairment, neuropathy, or severe toxicity.
