• Generic Name: Omeprazole

• Product Description:
  Xelopes Capsule is an enteric-coated formulation containing Omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It reduces gastric acid secretion by specifically inhibiting the H⁺/K⁺-ATPase enzyme system at the surface of the gastric parietal cells. The enteric coating ensures the active drug is released in the intestine, protecting it from degradation in the acidic environment of the stomach.

• Dosage:

  • Typical adult dose: 20 mg or 40 mg once daily, taken before a meal.

  • Indications include:

    • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

    • Peptic ulcer disease

    • Zollinger-Ellison syndrome

    • Helicobacter pylori eradication (as part of combination therapy)
