Product Description:

Xelopes IV Injection contains Omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H⁺/K⁺-ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells. It is used for short-term treatment of conditions such as gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and other conditions where reduction of stomach acid is needed when oral administration is not feasible.

Dosage:

• Adults:

  • Recommended dose is 40 mg once daily administered by slow intravenous injection over at least 2.5 minutes or as an infusion over 20–30 minutes.

  • Dosage may be adjusted based on the patient’s condition and medical judgment.

• Reconstitution & Administration:

  • The vial should be reconstituted with 10 ml of 0.9% sodium chloride solution (normal saline) for IV injection.

  • For infusion, further dilute the reconstituted solution in 100 ml of sodium chloride or 5% dextrose.
